The LOVE Club Gathering in Central Sydney commenced in 2018 as a direct response to the community asking for a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for older LGBTQ+ people to come together, socialise, have access to healthy ageing information and be able strengthen their support networks.
This monthly gathering is aimed at LGBTQ+ people 55 plus and all sexualities, gender identities, cultures and backgrounds are welcome.
The gathering is all about helping community to stay informed, maintain connections and building ongoing support networks. Activities at the gathering may include:
- Sharing lived experiences and stories
- Creative expression - writing, arts or music
- Supporting physical and emotional wellbeing
- Intergenerational activities
- Accessing ACON services
- External allied service and community speakers
